Arundel was your ordinary elven prince. Regal and wise compared to humans, in perfect accordance with nature. he was quiet, sweet, shy, but determinated.

He wore velvet green and brown and gold, and put feathers and flowers and leaves in his hair. He was most human girls' dreams were made of (elven maidens did not dwell on such shallow matters).

Your best work yet. I wasw wondering, however, why do you usually make the nose so big. Shallow I may be as a mere mortal but he'd be much more handsome if you shaved off a bit of nose. Coloring is superb.

i'm afraid as much as i love your works darling, im inclined to agree with this person..ive never been one to like large noses..and though it makes sense to have a flaw on such a nice character...why his nose? XD. you could give him a birthmark or something XD.. i dunno. ignore me :slow:

All the memories, i have are beautiful in my mind, but they don't feed the hunger deep inside my soul, And tonight i thought i'd be just sitting in my sorrow, but now i must wonder why, what did it really mean to you, i just can't see it anymore..

:> I wouldn't consider it a 'flaw' exactly. It may be a style thing. But, if he is to be the Adonis to which most maidens would swoon over, a little less 'honk' and alot more attraction. XD

I thought elves were mandatory for big pointy ears. Everything else is completely optional... Then again I could be wrong.

Nonetheless This picture reminds me of an elf on Captain N that I still have on tape....... Yeah... I old....

Thank you so much! XD

And I have a perfectly good reason to why his nose is so big.
>_>
Honest! I do!

I make a separation between "elves" and "high elves". In other words, "classic elves" and "Tolkien elves".

Classic elves are the elves from fairy tales, they're short, with huge ears/noses/hands/feet, and almond-shaped eyes. Arundel falls into this category. In most of my childhood books, elves are described as having "large", "round" and often "red" noses.
What makes them so appealing to human girls is what I call the "unicorn factor". Elves represent purity, magic and goodness. They're fantasy's angels.

Tolkien/high elves on the other hand, though being tall, beautiful, with perfect proportions, without a hair out of place and being the epitome of beauty (and yes, making them the "ultimate swooning targets"), they are also less innocent and pure. They are also utter snobs that look down on humans, whilst classical elves in stories are the ones who actually go out of their way to HELP humans (Peter Pan, The Elves and the Shoemaker, the, Father Christmas' elves, etc.) and they do it out of love. High elves only help humans if they have no choice or because they can gain something from it.

His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow."

I thought you might have a reason. Elves of myth and Tolkien's did seem to be designed differently. Take the Harry Potter elf (something I think most fairy tales will identify as an elf) and Tolkien's. They don't even look remotely related.

So that makes sense...still...this maiden wouldn't be drooling over him. LOL -honks his nose and runs.-
